If you start using the git bash for your daily work you will end up not using the command prompt. The git bash is usually only good for pulling and pushing the repository. We prefer to use the Windows command prompt over the git bash. I know the application works cause when I try to connect to the hyperterminal application it works fine. The problem is when I try to connect to the VNC application (using the terminal server client) it doesn't work. That is how I communicate with the computer. I also have a serial console application. However after I turn the hyperterminal application off when I try to use the console application it works fine. The only problem I am having is when I try to use the console application to connect to the serial console application. I am not sure if the Git.exe has built in support to build static libary. If you are using windows 7 you can either use Git bash or you can use the Git.exe application which has support built in to build the static libary. If you are using windows 7 64 bit you can use the msysGit package. If you are using windows 7 you can install the command line utility Git. I have installed the software and I am using the correct serial ports (From the hyperterminal is uses). The only issue I am having is with the maxicom driver. The console application supports both the FTDI and maxicom drivers.
